San Francisco De Asis Church and brooding sky in Ranchos de Taos, NM. This iconic building has been painted and photographed by many over the decades, most notably by Georgia O’Keeffe and Ansel Adams. The San Francisco De Asis Church has been immortalized, indelibly and for good. I’m always happy to visit and add to the narrative, and archive, documenting it’s many moods and looks. Black Mesa, San Ildefonso, NM. One of the most gorgeous iconic locations and one of so many in northern New Mexico. This location at San Ildefonso Pueblo is featured in many photographer’s portfolio. That doesn’t make it any less iconic as it is an area that is pristine and unspoiled and thank goodness. Come visit New Mexico and I’ll show you this and many more of these locations. Cabin, Ghost Ranch, Cerro Pedernal. The cabin at Ghost Ranch, (Curly’s Cabin) from the movie “City Slickers” where the door is almost always open and the porch is a cool relief from summer temps. Thanks for looking. G
Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. The Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad has terminals in Antonito, Colorado and Chama, New Mexico. It crosses the state line and travels through some of the most spectacular landscape in both states. It’s also fun to park and watch the train, to take some photos, as it climbs under full steam crossing the terrain. This image is from its arrival at the Cumbres Pass depot. Thanks for looking. G
Winding Road, Rio Chama, NM. Not so long and only a little bit winding, but look where it draws your view. One of my favorite locations, and views, enhanced by a dark sky, full of potential thunderstorms. Thanks for looking. G

Bachelor Rams, on the west rim with the Taos mountains as a backdrop. That’s Taos Mountain (Pueblo Peak) on the right, with much needed rain falling directly on the peak. The Bighorn Sheep, all rams, are a band roaming the west rim of the Rio Grande Gorge. If you would like to join me on a photo tour/workshop we will visit all the usual locations and see if we can spot them. The second image shows how close we got to them grazing along the roadside. They seem to enjoy the lush plants that get runoff from the rains on the highway. Thanks for looking. G
