Ohio Creek Pass Road from Gunnison to Crested Butte, Colorado with gorgeous aspen colors. The kind of fiery color we like to see in the mountains. Traveling, virtually again today, not a bad day at that. Thanks for looking. G
Aspen woods on the hillside in southern Colorado. Some theories suggest that the ground moved or slid downhill when the trees were young; that there was heavy snowfall in an avalanche or some such thing. I do know that they add a little mystery to the scene as well as beauty. When I was a kid, growing up in Wales and Yorkshire, I spent many hours in the woods. I’m happy to say I still do to this day. Panorama, Fall Color, Cumbres Pass, Colorado. A beautiful six hour Sunday drive around the big block on Highway 64 crossing the New Mexico, Colorado state lines more than a few times. Heading home over the Cumbres Pass twice in one week, the leaves were either blown off in certain areas, or magnificently peaking in others. There are many other places and a lot more fall left around northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. I hope you get out to see the gold in your area. Thanks for looking. G
Aspen road, in the mountains of northern New Mexico. The aspens around Taos are in all shades from green and in some cases yellow and gold. Farther north in southern Colorado, at ten thousand feet, things are advancing fast. It is great to smell autumn in the air with moisture and cooler temperatures. Orilla Verde Recreation Area in the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. Fall colors were evident yesterday evening during the sunset before the stars came out. I was on my way to photograph the Milky Way with the river and reflections. Things didn’t turn out as planned but the lead up and time spent out under the New Mexico skies made it all worthwhile. Fall colors, Kebler Pass Road, Colorado. Not far from Lost Lake, outside of Crested Butte, off the Kebler Pass Road to Paonia is this wonderful sight. The shape of things to come very soon in this area. The tips of the cottonwoods and aspen are starting to show their colors. I’m looking forward to it. I’m very fortunate to live where I do. So much of what I love and photograph is in my big back yard. Thanks for looking. G

Morning fog lifting, on a photo tour in Valle Escondido NM. As often happens on a photo tour, we keep spontaneity out front. Generally we have a route and basic itinerary laid out, but it’s easily modified at any point in time. It can be determined by multiple factors. More often than not, though, the main factor is about how much fun we are having and the quality of images we are making in a particular location. We worked this scene for two hours and got many images in the can. Thanks for looking. G
