Fall Capture, Remnants, Baca Park, Taos

Fall capture, and remnants of color in Baca Park, Taos. There’s still color around, sometimes glowing in the early morning light or muted at days end in the early evening shadows. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving day. Thanks for looking. G

Colorful Mural, Fence, Gutiz Restaurant, Taos, NM

Colorful mural on the fence at Gutiz Restaurant, Taos, NM. Take away and curbside pick up for the next few weeks, at least. I shot this image waiting for an oil change next door. A colorful mural brightening up the twenty-minute wait. Thanks for looking. G

Three Peaks, Jemez Mountains, Crescent Moon, Sunset

Three Peaks, the Jemez Mountains, a Crescent Moon, in a Sunset. I stepped outside for an hour to watch the moon set across the plateau over Three Peaks (Tres Orejas), and the Jemez Mountains a supervolcano. The moon and sky were bathed in the golden afterglow from the sunset. Thanks for looking. G

Sunset Viewing Sofa, West Rim Road, Taos

Sunset viewing sofa, West Rim Road, Taos. Yeah… really, it was deposited and abandoned, probably recycled in some other happy family’s home by now. The things one sees in the most unexpected places, I just had to stop and make an image. Thanks for looking. G

Early Winter Greets Fall, Taos, New Mexico

Early winter greets fall on the picturesque Upper Ranchitos Road in Taos, New Mexico. This was how it looked a couple of weeks ago. The trees are now bare and settled into their winter nakedness. Our journey through the season continues. Thanks for looking. G

Giant Cottonwood Leaf, Taos, Wetlands

Giant cottonwood leaf we picked up where the cottonwoods grow in the Taos, wetlands. My son pointed it out. It is as big as my head, about the span of a dinner plate. The viens are such an intricate and beautiful design magnified by the leafs size. To me, it resembles an aerial view of the landscape somewhere in the Southwest. Thanks for looking. G

San Antonio de Padua Capilla, Taos

San Antonio de Padua Capilla, Taos. This little chapel is one of many in the neighborhoods around Taos. I made a little trip through the old parts the day the snow began to melt when the sun came out adding some warmth to the day. Thanks for looking. G

Autumn Trio, Rio Fernando Park, Taos, New Mexico

Autumn Trio, Rio Fernando Park, Taos, New Mexico. I found some pleasing sights on a walk this morning through the park and wetlands. It was most enjoyable focusing my lens on the simpler compositions. Thanks for looking. G

Mabel Dodge Luhan House, Taos, NM

Mabel Dodge Luhan House, Taos, New Mexico. Hidden in a dark corner behind the gate house guest quarters is this little scene. I like the simplicity and the iconic New Mexico imagery, ladders, arched doorways in thick adobe walls. It’s a real pretty spot at other times of year under the large cottonwoods flanked by the famous dovecots. Thanks for looking. G

Summer Sunsets, Fiery Skies, Northern New Mexico

Summer sunsets and fiery skies, in northern New Mexico. Three photos today. One of the smokey sunset yesterday evening followed by the fiery ball of the sun setting shortly thereafter. The third image is one I came across from 2011 that I shot from my parking lot incorporating the left over rain puddle. Stay safe every one and as always, thank you for looking. G
