Highway 17, Aspens Turning In Colorado

Highway 17, aspens turning in Colorado. Took a drive today over the Cumbres Pass on Highway 17 to check out the aspen colors. We found many groves turning to shades of yellow, gold and red. There are still many green groves, and then there are many groves that, in the words of the band the Eagles, are “already gone”! Thanks for looking, and if you are in New Mexico, get out there over the next week for some prime colors. G

High Desert Farming, Colorado

High desert farming in the San Luis Valley, Colorado. Center pivot irrigation fields dissect the space between earth and sky. They are a stark contrast between the subtle fall colors of the high desert landscape and circular fields. Thanks for looking. G

Granite Fall Color, Taos Ski Valley

Granite Fall Color. While the aspens and cottonwoods in the high country and Taos Valley are only hinting at fall, the more intimate locations like this crevice in the granite, on the road to Taos Ski Valley, were showing more signs of color and what’s to come. Thanks for looking. G

Sunflower Morning, New Mexico

Sunflower Morning, San Cristobal, New Mexico. Every day I walk along the lanes and in the woods. The sunflowers this year are stupendous. They feel like my friends, each with their own personality, saying good morning, have a great day. Thanks for looking. G

Tree And Sky With Fence.

Tree and sky with fence. I made this image in the English Lake District on a trip there in October 2013. Every now and then I like to throw in an image I come across from past trips I’ve made whether here locally, or as in this case, further afield. Thanks for looking. G

Church in Chacon, New Mexico

Church in Chacon, northern New Mexico. Flashback to fall 2014 … you can tell by the fluffy white clouds. I found this image while perusing my hard drives for another image. It consists of four images shot top to bottom and stitched together to make a large vertical panorama. I also like that there is a door in the building, halfway to heaven. Thanks for looking!
