Pinto Pony, Llano De San Juan, New Mexico

Pinto pony, Llano De San Juan, New Mexico. Just off the High road to Taos, out of Peñasco is the hamlet of Llano. It is a favorite stop on the High road to Taos photo tour. This pinto/paint was the warmest looking creature around. Suffice to say, as we descended Highway 518 into Taos, the temperatures warmed up resulting in yesterdays photo of the day. Thanks for looking. G

Golden Eagle, Pole Sitting, Vallecito Mountain

Golden Eagle, pole sitting, on the Hondo Mesa with Vallecito Mountain for a backdrop. I caught a glimpse of what I thought was a hawk from a distance, but grew larger as I closed the distance. I’m not a hundred percent certain it’s a golden but I’m going with it. Thanks for looking. G

Snow Storm, Village Of Cerro, New Mexico

Snow storm, in the Village of Cerro, northern New Mexico. On the road to the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument one passes through the village, or hamlet, of Cerro. The road meanders through fields, passing homes, farms, a sweet little church and a local cafe. I thought I’d post an image of things to come, in the region, weather wise, over the next few days. Thanks for looking. G

Cottonwoods, Aspens, Mountains, San Cristobal Valley

Cottonwoods, Aspens, Mountains, San Cristobal Valley. It’s all about the light and I like to focus on any scene that lives up to that phrase. Here in northern New Mexico the light is everything. This scene I’ve photographed many times always catches my eye as I drive by on my way home. Thanks for looking. G

Shadows, Cerro, New Mexico

Shadows, in the hamlet of Cerro, New Mexico. The little Catholic church (Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe) has a handrail, more than likely crafted by a local artist. We headed out to the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, that morning, for some landscape images. We ended up spending an hour working on images of this church. Thanks for looking. G

Pink Adobe, Costilla, New Mexico

Pink Adobe, Costilla, New Mexico on a bright and crisp winter morning. The windows and doors have been boarded up. Things change, though I must admit, I do like the choice of color used on the window panel. Thanks for looking. G

Bus Bench, Trash Cans, Windows, Farmington, NM

Bus bench, trash cans, windows, Farmington, NM. Drive by shootings of building façades from the highways and byways in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado, continued. I do believe that the trash can on the left is for cigarettes and the bus bench is for butts! Sorry I couldn’t resist! Thanks for looking. G

Drive By Shooting, Building Façades

Drive by shooting of building façades from the highways of northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. I have been putting together a collection of images, many of which depict façades that are gone and others that no longer represent their original selves. This building is just north of Taos and is currently covered in grafitti! Back then I liked it’s simplicity and hand made doors . Thanks for looking. G

Taos Mountain, Sunset Clouds, Daily Commute

Taos Mountain, sunset clouds, on our daily commute in northern New Mexico. We live in a most beautiful place. I know there are many beautiful places on the planet. This is our beauty spot. There’s a twelve thousand foot mountain in those clouds. It will likely be covered in more snow tomorrow. Thanks for looking. G
