1940 Packard 160 Super 8

1940 Packard 160 Super 8 … “What is the classic auto in the photo of the day, January 25, 2019 on Highway 160 in Fort Garland, Colorado.” Thanks to all who sent me suggestions, and to my friend, Ron, for the confirmation and link to the 1940 Packard 160 Super 8. Thanks for looking and answers. G

Classic Auto, Fort Garland Colorado

Classic Auto, Highway 160, Fort Garland, Colorado. Ok … my good friend makes a best assessment, a 1939 something. I’ve looked online for some ideas alas, to no avail, so I’m open to any and all suggestions. I made this shot from the highway as I drove past so didn’t stop to ask. I thought it would be an easy task to find out through the internet. I’ll be there again next week should there still be a question. Thanks for looking. G

Pivot Irrigator, Fort Garland, Colorado

Pivot Irrigator, Fort Garland, in the San Luis Valley, Colorado. When driving around the west, on the lookout for jaw dropping scenes to photograph, and add to the portfolio, sometimes I stop for an image that just happens to be there. In fact, when I look back through the years I find that I stop for a lot of images that “just happen to be there.” Over all the miles I’ve traveled, these images fill in the blanks, and connect the dots on the map I’ve created over the years. Thanks for looking, G.

Blanca Peak, Colorado

Blanca Peak Range in the Rocky Mountains. These mountain peaks dominate the San Luis Valley in southern Colorado and can be seen from the Rio Grande Gorge bridge on a clear day, about 75 miles to the south. I made this image on a trip to San Luis and Fort Garland yesterday after the heavy overnight snowfall. Thanks for looking.
