Bosque Marsh, Mountain Dawn

Bosque marsh, mountain dawn. So beautiful down here in Bosque del Apache (woods of the Apache) NWR, San Antonio, NM. We been coming down here for many years now and every time there is always something new to see. These are only a fraction of the thousands of Snow Geese arriving daily. On this visit we have saw the largest number of wild turkeys spotted here. A section of the refuge previously closed and now open, affording us new views, vistas and habitats. And the mountains… oh! the mountains… lit up from a single shaft of light, and here reflected in the marsh. The good thing is… we’ve made plans for more trips back down here this season. Thanks for looking. G

Plaza Blanca Window

Plaza Blanca window in Abiquiu, New Mexico. As the erosion occurs the window opening grows larger continually revealing more of the landscape beyond. Eventually the window will be gone, none of the formations will be the same. In the southwest nothing lasts very long except for the beauty, it remains! G

Afternoon in Baca Park, Taos NM

Afternoon in Baca Park, Taos NM

Baca Park is a small but vital park – wetlands in Taos. In the past I have photographed Hawks and Kingfishers, Red-winged Blackbirds, Great-tailed Grackles, Mallards, Frogs and Toads. A location in town, with a view of Taos Mountain, it can be a beautiful peaceful environment, and a great place for a morning walk. There is also ample opportunity for some great wildlife and nature images.
