Saint Francis Church Pigeons And Gas Meter

Saint Francis Church, Ranchos de Taos, with pigeons and “the” gas meter. More often than not the gas meter is left out by painters (paintshopping), or erased in a photo application. but left in here, by yours truly, for authenticity. The rocks ringing the building are to stop people parking too close to the walls and buttresses. They make for a nice foreground contrast and a place to sit. Thanks for looking. G

White cross and shadows at the Saint Francis Church, in Ranchos de Taos. If you’ve downloaded my July Journal of Photography then you will be familiar with this image. It’s a photo from many years ago that had eluded me until the last few weeks. I like the simplicity of much of the architecture I find here in New Mexico. If I never leave this state, I doubt I’d ever run out of subject matter. Thanks for looking. G

Saint Clare at the Saint Francis Church, Ranchos de Taos. Stopped in here on a photo tour and made this image with the iPhone in “portrait” mode. The ominous clouds delivered rain shortly thereafter.
