Cumbres And Toltec Scenic Railroad

Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. The Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad has terminals in Antonito, Colorado and Chama, New Mexico. It crosses the state line and travels through some of the most spectacular landscape in both states. It’s also fun to park and watch the train, to take some photos, as it climbs under full steam crossing the terrain. This image is from its arrival at the Cumbres Pass depot. Thanks for looking. G

Alamosa Railyards, Colorado

Ghostly drapes on the “Minnesota Zephyr, Stillwater Carriage” in the Alamosa Railyards, Colorado. It is eerie to walk between the carriages and see the remnants from a bygone era. I can imagine the travelers on the train looking out the windows as the scenery went by, their eyes full of wonder, where ever they were heading. Here are more details on the train from Wikipedia. Thanks for looking. G

The Rail Yards, Alamosa, Colorado

Alamosa rail yards, southern Colorado. I like wandering aimlessly around locations and being pleasantly surprised by what I find. This may not seem like a lot, but to me it was like finding an old family heirloom, a familiar item, that had been touted through generations. Lost but now found. Thanks for looking. G
