Broken Glass, Enter if You Dare

Broken Glass, Enter if You Dare. On the road in these parts often finds us amongst ruins of some sort or another. In this case, a broken window with pitch black darkness beyond and a figure lurking in the structure of the fractured glass. I didn’t see the weird figure five years ago when I made the image, not until I opened it today. As always, thank you for looking. G

Bighorn Sheep In The Rio Grande Gorge

Bighorn sheep in the Rio Grande Gorge Taos, New Mexico. Sometimes the image is mainly for the record. Two bighorn rams go at it as if in a ring with a referee ram telling them too keep it clean. When they butted heads the thunk, initially a delayed shuddering crack, echoed loudly off the canyon walls. Then after another go round it was over, and they all laid down. Thanks for looking. G

Building Marked From Drive By Gunshot.

Building marked from drive by gunshot blasts in the San Luis Valley, Colorado. Remnants of a gas stop on Colorado Highway 139. I feel sure it thrived for sometime. Now it’s a target for folks to direct their gunsights on as they pass the location that once provided a livelihood for a family or two. Thanks for looking. G

On The Plains, Cimarron, New Mexico

Where the Rockies meet the Plains, Cimarron, New Mexico. I love watching the clouds and shadows roll across the plains. This image, from early February, was made on a warm winter day, that, thirty minutes later became a minor blizzard as we returned to Taos over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Thanks for looking. G

Mule Deer, Great Sand Dunes National Park And Preserve

Mule Deer, in the brush at the Great Sand Dunes NP, Colorado. Moseying around, munching on the shrubs, doing what deer do, all the while being sweet creatures and a wonderful sight at the National Park when they pop up out of the rabbit brush as we drive by. Thanks for looking. G

We spent time on the road around Taos, the High Road,  Abiquiu and Georgia O’Keefe country, followed by a day in southern Colorado. The weather totally cooperated and the image making opportunities were stunning. Thanks for looking. G

Before us, toward the Sangre de Cristo Mountains was pure serenity of rice grass, sand and sky. Thanks for looking. G
