Taos Mountain, meadow, wild cloud. I can’t resist pulling over at this location and I feel sure you recognize the view. In this instance the cloud formed very quickly and blew away on the breeze in but a moment. I had just time enough to pull over and take two photos to stitch into this panorama. Thanks for looking. G
Taos Mountain, early evening light in the meadow. The cattle grazing in the long grass (wishing they were bison). The light and clouds ever changing on the unchanging presence of the mountain, made me pull over this evening on the drive home. In a brief moment later the clouds thinned, the cattle raised their heads and the light drew me on home. Thanks for looking. G
Harvest moon rise, over the Sangre De Cristos, mountains illuminating the clouds. This is the view from our driveway in San Cristobal on the night of Friday the 13th. I had meant to post it on the day, but…! So here it is. The warm color is from a forest fire controlled burn in the foothills and the smokey haze affected the color of light in this scene. Storm cell over the Rio Grande Gorge across the volcanic plateau. They move fast and drop a vast amount of water in a very short time. The cell expanded toward me, fully engulfing the little valley and me. I managed to keep the camera covered and dove back into the car out of the rain and lightning. Thanks for looking. G
San Francisco De Asis Church and brooding sky in Ranchos de Taos, NM. This iconic building has been painted and photographed by many over the decades, most notably by Georgia O’Keeffe and Ansel Adams. The San Francisco De Asis Church has been immortalized, indelibly and for good. I’m always happy to visit and add to the narrative, and archive, documenting it’s many moods and looks. Black Mesa, San Ildefonso, NM. One of the most gorgeous iconic locations and one of so many in northern New Mexico. This location at San Ildefonso Pueblo is featured in many photographer’s portfolio. That doesn’t make it any less iconic as it is an area that is pristine and unspoiled and thank goodness. Come visit New Mexico and I’ll show you this and many more of these locations. Rio Chama road, off the beaten path in Abiquiu, New Mexico. A quick trip to the red and honey colored rock country in the Chama River Canyon yesterday. The temps were in the mid nineties, exceedingly hot and dry! It was great fun to spend time with my son, listening to his story telling, surrounded by gorgeous scenery and good company. Arroyo Hondo Mesa, Rainbow. The promise from last nights post tonight. It was so large and I was so close that even three stitched images couldn’t fit it all in. The outer arc was thinly veiled in the clouds, so not as defined as the parts you see. I plan to do better! As always thank you for looking. G

Cloud, Plaza Blanca, Abiquiu, NM. Stopped in Plaza Blanca (the “White Place”) today. It was hot and beautiful. The clouds passed overhead and things cooled for a bit but it’s always cool with a slight breeze in the slot canyon. I love this place. Thanks for looking. G
