RGB, Red, Green, Blue, Trinidad, Colorado

RGB, Red, Green, Blue, “Colt Restaurant” Trinidad, Colorado. I don’t know the history of this sign except that it is parked in the side lot of an antique shop, closed due to boiler trouble. RGB, the colors of Trinidad, a city just over the border from New Mexico in Colorado. Thanks for looking. G

Red Yellow, Trinidad, Colorado

Red, yellow, downtown Trinidad, Colorado. Made a trip around the block, a long block, a three hundred mile block! Stopped into the town of Trinidad and made a few images of the local “decor”. It would be easy to fill a few memory cards of images here with all the primary colors including plenty of red and yellow. Thanks for looking. G

Coyote Watches, Rio Pueblo, Orilla Verde, NM

Coyote Watches, at the Rio Pueblo, in the Orilla Verde RA, NM. Today we were down on the banks of the Rio Pueblo, amongst the red willows, photographing fast flowing water. I was very surprised to look up at one point and discover we were being watched by this gorgeous coyote. It stayed where it was, not moving, during the photo session only varying its gaze to the left and right. We surmised that it had a den very near, possibly with young pups. It kept watching until we left. We felt very privileged to be party to this moment in nature, watching… as coyote watches us . Thanks for looking. G

Cedar Waxwing, Downtown Taos

Cedar Waxwing, downtown Taos, New Mexico. Foraging around the Russian Olive trees between Mickey D’s and Ace Hardware. Maybe three of them and a few Robins. This one settled on the big rock for a few shots. Then they all, including the Robins, took off! Read more about the Cedar Waxwing here. Thanks for looking. G

Spring In The Rocky Mountains

Spring in the Rocky Mountains (Sangre de Cristos) the Moreno Valley. How quickly the weather changes at this time of year during spring. In the space of a few miles and thirty minutes later after lunch the difference follows the old adage… if you don’t like the weather in New Mexico, wait five minutes. In this instance the wind and snow became a blizzard. By the mid afternoon it was gone! Thanks for looking. G

Red-Tailed Hawk Aloft

Red-Tailed Hawk aloft over Cerro New Mexico. On the way to a quick photo shoot near Ute Mountain, I caught this beautiful raptor out the car window. I’m convinced it knows my maroon 4 Runner as it has a knack for taking off, from it’s perch, when it sees me long before I pull over. In this case it flew in my direction right past my open window. Thanks for looking. G

Patterns Of Decay

Patterns of decay. Slowly creeping down the wall like two dimensional stalactites. Here there and everywhere as abandoned buildings deteriorate beautifully back to the earth. Thanks for looking. G

Roadside Reflections, Taos Mountain Clouds

Roadside Reflections, Taos Mountain Clouds. On the road home a few nights ago, I found it hard to resist a reflection in this particular puddle. We’ve had some fabulous skies recently, and the puddle doubles their beauty. Thanks for looking. G

Lake Reflections, Blanca Peak, Colorado

Lake Reflections, Blanca Peak, Colorado. On a photo tour/workshop last week we stopped in here at this location that afforded us this view. Sandhill cranes were foraging in the red willows. There were a couple of dozen seagulls, a blue heron aloft in a cottonwood, and a variety of ducks and geese along the shoreline. Thanks for looking. G
