Highway Pony, Wagon Mound, NM
Highway Pony with big sky, just off Interstate 25 near Wagon Mound, NM. Yes we pull over for ponies and all and sundry other subject matter. But when it’s a pony and super big sky, we are there! Thanks for looking. G

Taos plaza windows and the sky above, just for the heck of it. I think I liked the squiggles on the window panes and the squiggly cloud. Yes that’s it! That’s what I like! Thanks for looking. G
Lewis’s Woodpecker, a regular visitor to the garden in San Cristobal, NM. When I finally looked at the images I discovered that he wasn’t trying to retrieve a kernel or two or three from the hole in the fence post, he was drinking the snow melt water that had accumulated there. As you can see I caught the drip. I love these birds. Thanks for looking. G
Apple Tree, Crescent Moon, Venus. I was going to make a short drive out to somewhere this evening for a more majestic view incorporating a landscape. As I walked out to the car this delicate scene presented itself in the twilight. Venus and the moon through the branches of the apple tree in the garden. If it’s clear tomorrow evening there will probably be another image of this wonderful conjunction. Thanks for looking. G
Canyon De Chelly, White House Ruin. Canyon de Chelly, National Monument, in Chinle Arizona. Standing in the shade under the cottonwood tree as the sun broke over the brow of the canyon walls. Thanks for looking. G
Crescent Moon waxing with “earth shine” just now, setting over the plateau. Stunning beauty. The moon is reflecting light from the earth! Makes sense “earth shine”. I just got in after it set through the reddish, orange haze. Then it got cold. Now for a roast chicken dinner! Thanks for looking. G
El Malpais National Monument, a composition at the Sandstone Bluffs Overlook. A popular spot to visit on photo treks as it’s just a short hop off I40, en route to all points west. Thanks for looking. G
Sunrise, Sangre De Cristo Mountains, NM. I’m rarely up for a sunrise. In fact I’m hardly ever up for a sunrise. I can usually see it from the bedroom window! I photographed this sunrise because I’d got up to “shoot” the Moon that morning with Mars. This occurred shortly after Mars emerged from behind the Moon. As I was already up I grab this little scene. As always, thanks for looking. G
Isle of Skye, Scotland. Loch Cill Chriosd, a flashback to 2013 on a trip through England, Scotland and Wales. Hey Ron, thanks for the inspiration to go through the archives. I hope your trip is wonderful. Thanks for looking. G
Interstate 25, diversions, on frontage roads in New Mexico. We pulled off the Interstate onto frontage roads for access to icons from bygone days. This structure south of Raton, NM was surrounded by retired mobile homes. Nearby was a campground with a large mural of Guadalupe. I think the bars on these windows are more for decoration. The building itself looks like it could be opened with a can opener. Thanks for looking. G
