Sunset, Moon, Wall and Trees

Sunset, Moon, Wall and Trees. Dove into the archives today and found this image from 2010. It was taken across the street from where I lived at that time. Stay tuned for more images from the archives as I traipse down memory lane. Have a wonderful Labor Day Holiday. For my friends in Florida, be safe and we’ll see you on the other side of the hurricane. Thanks for looking. G

Moon, Jupiter, Rising, Taos New Mexico

Moon, Jupiter, Rising, in the skies over Taos, New Mexico. Not a bad way to start the day. Up early, watching the celestial bodies traverse the sky into daylight. The Moon, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn along with Antares the red heart of the Scorpion constellation in beautiful unison. A nice cup of tea nearby and a camera in hand, the day tends to go rather well after a start like that. Thanks for looking. G

Elm Tree Moon

Elm Tree Moon. That’s the sight I see when I go to the gate. I just love the contrast. My enthusiasm for winter cold is sadly lacking, countered by pristine skies, meditative landscapes and solitude. Thanks for looking. G

Framed Mountain Moon

Framed mountain moon through the old business (Amerigas) sign on highway 522. I couldn’t resist this image from the last full moon. Driving to town I spotted the full moon perfectly framed in the sign. The traffic, at 5pm, on Thanksgiving eve was thick. Standing on the double yellow line, I had a few seconds to recreate what I saw as we whizzed past a moment early.  I crossed to the middle of the road when the traffic receded, made a couple of images, then retreated back to the safe side of the road as the traffic thickened again. I repeated this routine two more times until the moon rose beyond the sweet spot. Thanks for looking and humoring me. G

Morning Moon, San Cristobal

Morning moon setting, San Cristobal, NM. This morning I took advantage of the time change and forsook the extra hour in bed and went outside to be greeted by the moon setting. Then I had a cup of tea. Thanks for looking. G

Chaco Canyon Room And Moon

Chaco Canyon room and moon. When ever I enter a room in the ancient pueblo ruins in Chaco Canyon, I always look up. The sky encompassed by an aperture of undulating shadows, skillful and meticulously layered stone work, draws my gaze upward to a view that, perhaps, the pueblo inhabitants never had. Ceiling and roof timbers have long since deteriorated leaving only remnants of them protruding out of layers of stone and an open view to the heavens above. Thanks for looking up. G

Crescent Moon

Crescent Moon waxing, San Cristobal, NM. We live on a slight rise with a view south, from east to west, and bordered on the north by the Kit Carson National Forest. The location is excellent for watching moon rises and moon sets, full moons and crescents. Here is a favorite view of this evening’s waxing crescent moon through the bare trees. G
