Saint Francis Church Plaza, reflections, Ranchos de Taos. The 50º F temps today melted a lot of snow. That’s great but now comes the mud and a lot of water which allows for fabulous reflections. I put the camera on the ground and made a three image panorama needed to capture the swimmingly wet parking lot. Thanks for looking. G
San Francisco de Asis, church flock, Ranchos de Taos. The morning flock gather on the parapet wall. Shortly, a neighbor will toss out bird seed and the pigeons come to church each day. Thanks for looking. G
Illumination bus, Taos, New Mexico. Years ago this bus pulled into town. I have no idea who they are or what they represent. I liked the layer of snow on top and the cascading window fringes, the color scheme and the smiling, happy figures. I think the cross just happened to be there and these folks in the bus landed the from another planet. Thanks for looking. G
Winter’s past, Saint Francis Church, Ranchos De Taos, NM. Not the dead of winter but the beginning winter, the way it looks when the moods of autumn shift into winter and back again. The adobe monolith, on the south end of the Ranchos valley stands steadfast in all seasons. Thanks for looking. G
Tipi sky, Ranchos De Taos, New Mexico. Digging in the archives and clearing out the virtual stuffed closet today I found this image of the tipis, south of Taos, near where I used to live. In the evening, around sunset, I would pop down the road, a mile or so from home, to watch and wait as the scene unfolded. Thanks for looking. G

Taos Tipis, Ranchos de Taos, NM. Flash back to 2008 when there were four tipis south of Taos. Over the years they dwindled down to one tipi. It was always fun to check out the location with a gorgeous backdrop of a New Mexico sky. Currently a tipi has recently appeared in the last few weeks making two, so I’ll keep an eye out for future image opportunities. Thanks for looking. G
San Francisco De Asis Church and brooding sky in Ranchos de Taos, NM. This iconic building has been painted and photographed by many over the decades, most notably by Georgia O’Keeffe and Ansel Adams. The San Francisco De Asis Church has been immortalized, indelibly and for good. I’m always happy to visit and add to the narrative, and archive, documenting it’s many moods and looks. Crosses and shadows at the St. Francis Church, Ranchos de Taos, NM. Finding the light and darks at any religious landmarks, to me represents the symbolism of the eternal fight between the two. I mostly enjoy the architecture of the buildings and the people who built them. Thanks for looking. G
Puddle, Sunrise, St. Francis, Reflection. This morning at the San Francisco de Asis church at the precise moment the sun came out from behind the clouds, silhouetted the church and highlighted the rocks. Puddles add a nice element to a mundane scene. Thanks for looking. G
