Moon, Jupiter, Rising, Taos New Mexico

Moon, Jupiter, Rising, in the skies over Taos, New Mexico. Not a bad way to start the day. Up early, watching the celestial bodies traverse the sky into daylight. The Moon, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn along with Antares the red heart of the Scorpion constellation in beautiful unison. A nice cup of tea nearby and a camera in hand, the day tends to go rather well after a start like that. Thanks for looking. G

Wolf Moon, Waxing Crescent, Sunset

Wolf Moon waxing crescent, sunset, from the driveway, San Cristobal. It’s not far from the house for a great view in all directions. This view was to the southwest shortly after the sunset. I’m looking forward to the super moon eclipse on January 20-21, 2019. Stay tuned and thanks for looking. G

West Rim Rocks, Taos Mountain

West Rim Rocks, across the Rio Grande Gorge to Taos Mountain. After a day of overcast skies the clouds broke up enough to allow the sun to shed some light on the rocks of the west rim of the Rio Grande Gorge. Thanks for looking. G

Black And White In The San Luis Valley

Black and white at the red barn in the southern San Luis Valley, Colorado. This place is so familiar, so familiar to me, that I think I know this place from a past life or parallel universe. It feels so much like home and always good to visit. Thanks for looking. G

Stormy Skies, Taos Mountain

Stormy skies and Taos Mountain feature in this familiar view of the mountain and cottonwoods in El Prado, NM. I like the eyes created by patches of sunlight on the mountain looking back at me. Thanks for looking. G

Columbine Hondo Wilderness

Columbine Hondo Wilderness in the Sangre de Cristo mountains of northern New Mexico. This is what I see on my commute, when I make a commute. This is what I see from our valley. This scene is what I see when I walk out of the local market. My bucket list…?  Don’t have one!  Heading out tomorrow in the new fallen snow we are getting today. Stay tuned for more images. Thanks for looking. G

Morphing Clouds, Taos, NM

Morphing clouds over the western volcanic plateau from Taos, NM. There were so many images posted on social media of the broader sunset. I have a number of those images too. I was more intrigued with this one little detail that represented what was happening in the overall grander view. The clouds were morphing fast as if inspired by the setting sun. They kind of reminded me of a lava lamp. Thanks for looking. G

Bobcat Pass Lone Tree

Bobcat Pass lone tree and sky. A favorite scene in northern New Mexico. This is a location where the shifting clouds form a fabulous backdrop to the tree, or when the summer moon rises directly behind it to the east. I like to stop here whenever I’m on the Enchanted Circle drive through the Moreno Valley and over Bobcat Pass. Keep looking up and thanks for looking. G

Crescent Moon One Percent Waxing

Crescent Moon one percent waxing over the Volcanic Plateau west of Taos, New Mexico. It took me a moment to see it, actually quite a long moment. Then, as the clouds parted, there it was shining like the day. Thanks for looking. G

Graffiti Art On the High Road To Taos

Graffiti art in Chamisal on the High Road to Taos. Well, someone’s idea of art. I must admit, the lighting made the colorful graffiti ‘pop’ against the dramatic sky. Thanks for looking. G
