Alphabet, Metal Stamps, Lamy Forge, NM

Alphabet, Metal Stamps, Lamy Forge, New Mexico. Something completely different, a flashback to 2019 at a forge and foundry I visited in Lamy, NM, on a photo trek with my good friend and photographer, Ron. Thanks for looking. G

Sangre De Cristo Mountains, Moon Rise, Colorado

This evening we went north, in a more timely manner to catch the moon’s majestic rise over the Sangres. It was low light and I forgot my tripod so I held on tight resting on the car window. I need to make a checklist and check it twice, no, three times. Thanks for looking. G

Tree, Mountain Cloud, San Cristobal, NM

I missed the ball this evening as I didn’t pay attention to the time. I was busy making images of my neighbor Dennis’s tree with the low cloud and peaks breaking through when I remembered the time which was getting close to the moon’s rise. Because we live so close to the mountains I sometimes have to drive a little bit north and west to see it at the right time. I had planned a drive out toward the fourteeners in Colorado. Oh well. I did drive north a little way to see the moon rise over Lama mountain. The first image is from our garden and the second is the moon rising over Lama. Thanks for looking. I promise to do better next time. G

Mountain Spotlight on the Sangre De Cristos, New Mexico

We live in a beautiful world. Our world here in northern New Mexico is particularly beautiful for all the wonderful photo opportunities it presents to a landscape photographer. The last light of the sun creates a spotlight effect on the snow-covered mountain peak. Thanks for looking. G

Ute Mountain and the Wild Rivers Area, Winter in the Rio Grande Gorge

More snow coming to northern New Mexico in the next few days. We’re going to head out for certain if it does. We’ll stop in here at Wild Rivers Recreation Area for a view of Ute Mountain, where the wild Rio Grande makes a nice leading line. Thanks for looking. G

Winter Homestead, Abandoned, San Luis Valley, Colorado

Winter homestead, abandoned in the San Luis Valley, Colorado. Still in someone’s family but no family living there, so I added a little warmth to this winter scene. Thanks for looking. Season’s greetings to you and your family. Best wishes. Geraint

Red Wheelbarrow, Surprise, Snow, San Cristobal, NM

Red Wheelbarrow with a surprise in the snow, San Cristobal, New Mexico. I like to wander early in the morning, well not too early, in the garden. This little surprise was waiting to be discovered in Pami’s red wheelbarrow after the last snow. So…, something red for the holidays. Thanks for looking. G

Tipis, Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico

Tipis south of Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico. I headed here first last night for the conjunction but the elements didn’t align. So I headed to the church shortly afterward. That worked out fine and print sales were brisk today. I did shoot some images at the tipis before heading to the church. I added the antique aged distressed look to the shot. Keep looking up! The planets are still passing in the night. Well, not really, Saturn is just under half a billion miles further out into space than mighty Jupiter. Thanks for looking. G

Saint Francis Church, Saturn, Jupiter, Conjunction

Saint Francis Church, Ranchos de Taos, with Saturn, Jupiter, Conjunction. Jupiter, four moons, and Saturn, a composite image, one focused on the church belfries and the second focused on the planets. Zoom in to see the planets. I hope you got to see it out there. Thanks for looking. G
