Last Light On The Hills

A shaft of light cast through a narrow aperture created by a low lying cloud and the space between it and the horizon. Illuminating the peaks of the Columbine Hondo Wilderness, this familiar view from the garden in San Cristobal, is consistent in it’s continually changing drama and light.

My Neighbor’s Tree

My neighbor’s tree. I walked outside this evening and was struck by the light on this tree. I can see it, and the foothills beyond, from the kitchen window. I often enjoy viewing the tree in the lay of the land throughout the day. I like to think that it was planted in just the perfect spot. Thanks for looking. G

Moon Rise Over The Latir Wilderness, New Mexico

Moonrise over the Latir Wilderness, New Mexico. We took a short drive north today. It was bitterly cold so we didn’t stay out too long, just long enough to make this image. The moon felt comfortably warm in this scene compared to everything else. Thanks for looking. G

The Irish Sea

The Irish Sea from the coast of north Wales. I spent a year here in 1974-75 when I ocean kayaked, fished for Mackerel, which meant delicious fish suppers. I spent many hours dreaming on long beach walks. Three years later I walked off a plane in Los Angeles. Thanks for looking. G

Tree And Sky With Fence.

Tree and sky with fence. I made this image in the English Lake District on a trip there in October 2013. Every now and then I like to throw in an image I come across from past trips I’ve made whether here locally, or as in this case, further afield. Thanks for looking. G

Church in Chacon, New Mexico

Church in Chacon, northern New Mexico. Flashback to fall 2014 … you can tell by the fluffy white clouds. I found this image while perusing my hard drives for another image. It consists of four images shot top to bottom and stitched together to make a large vertical panorama. I also like that there is a door in the building, halfway to heaven. Thanks for looking!

Drink, Eat, Carrizozo, NM

Drink Eat in air conditioned luxury. This establishment in Carrizozo, NM was open when I first made images back in the late 1990’s. I made this image a couple of years ago on a visit there. It still has an attraction for me even in its current state of abandonment, sans the AC. Update. It has been gussied up since I made this image. Thanks for looking. G

Wolf Moon, El Prado, NM

A drive by sighting in El Prado, NM this evening. The “Wolf Moon” burst on the scene as if arriving at its own surprise party. People showed up, and were pulled over all along the highway north of Taos. Thanks for looking. G

Exquisite, Quiet Moon Rise

Exquisite, quiet moon rise, out of the kitchen window in San Cristobal, New Mexico this evening. We watched long and marveled at the site in the warmth of the kitchen over a glass of pinot noir. Thanks for looking. G
