San Francisco de Asis, Moonrise, Ranchos de Taos, NM

San Francisco de Asis, Moonrise, Ranchos de Taos, NM. Sometimes the elements come together where one would like them to. Photographed and painted by many artists, I never tire of another visit to this mission church south of Taos. A big plus when no one else is there. Can you feel the peace and solitude? Thanks for looking. G

Taos Pueblo, Snow, Flashback, November 2019

Taos Pueblo, snow, flashback, November 2019. Thought I’d share this from last year when we were able to visit the Pueblo. This year isn’t happening. Thanks for looking and let’s put every one of our family’s safety first. G

Moonrise, Costilla, New Mexico

Moonrise over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains from Costilla, New Mexico. I drove up north an hour before sunset, the peaks are just over the border in Colorado. I was very surprised to see just how large this “Beaver” or “Frosty” moon looked as the view opened up to the east. Nothing like an evening drive to watch the moon rise. Thanks for looking. G

Raptor, Red-Tailed Hawk, Ranchos De Taos, NM

Raptor, Red-tailed Hawk on the road to Ranchos de Taos, NM. Alert and on point. Always. I love these creatures, their purposeful design, and immaculate bodies. Their haunting calls from the skies stir my body and soul and remind me there is no way to get back to nature… because we’ve never left it.  Thanks for looking. G

Las Trampas Church Through The Big Doors

Las Trampas Church, the view through the big doors. I’m on the High Road to Taos often on photo tours, that it is hard to pass up another picture opportunity of this beautiful mission church of San Jose de Gracia de Las Trampas. Thanks for looking and all the wonderful comments and support over the years. I’m very grateful. Thank you. Geraint.

Fall Capture, Remnants, Baca Park, Taos

Fall capture, and remnants of color in Baca Park, Taos. There’s still color around, sometimes glowing in the early morning light or muted at days end in the early evening shadows. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving day. Thanks for looking. G

Taos Plateau, Sunset Rays, Storm Clouds

Taos Plateau, sunset rays with storm clouds brewing. Out here in the west, we get these vast skies and expansive views that go on forever, and these letterbox sunsets are a particular feature when storms roll through. Thanks for looking. G

Fall Color, Orilla Verde, Rio Grande Gorge, NM

Fall Color along the riverbank in the Orilla Verde Recreation Area, the Rio Grande Gorge, NM. I took an early morning drive when the sun rises and illuminates the walls of the canyon along with the sky, reflected in the placid river. I liked the light on the chamiso bush and the way the reflection created the playful background. Thanks for looking. G

Barrancos Blancos, Cemetery, Shrine, Embudo, New Mexico

Barrancos Blancos, cemetery and shrine, on the banks of the Rio Grande in Embudo, New Mexico. There’s a snowstorm forecast, so I thought this would make an appropriate image for the season. I didn’t go far today, just back to the digital darkroom/office and the archives. Thanks for looking. G
