Down At The Basketball Court

Down at the basketball court. A reflection from the past (2004) and in the rain puddle at the local park. Delving into the photo archives I am always surprised to see the roads I’ve taken. The images are my journal where, upon review, the past enlightens my present, and inspires my future. Thanks for looking. G

Boardwalk, Steps, Bricks, Pink Wall

Boardwalk, Steps, Bricks, Pink Wall. On our trip through southern Colorado and northern New Mexico to check out the aspens, we dropped in at Tierra Wools in Los Ojos, NM, where I spent some time looking around the architecture in the village. I’ll post a few images over the next few days from this sweet outpost known for it’s fiber arts, yarns and sheep round up each spring and fall. Here is the boardwalk at the entrance to Tierra Wools. I thought the colors had a hint of fall to them. G

Reflections On The Red Brick

Reflections on the red brick Albuquerque, NM. You’re walking around looking for signs of life, architecture, or anything for that matter, then you come across something right under your feet. The sun reflecting off a window on to the red bricks in the courtyard at San Felipe de Neri church, Albuquerque, NM. Thanks for looking. G

Rust And More Rust, Taos NM

Rust and more rust with some paint thrown in for good measure, here in Taos New Mexico. I love making and collecting these abstract images where ever I go throughout the years. I made this image on a photo tour last week and filed it under “decay” in the archive. As always, thanks for looking. G

A Glass Abstract Caught My Eye

Glass Abstract. The dark negative shape caught my eye. On closer inspection, I could see the inside glow cast from the window in the door. I liked the way the pieces of glass in the frame were reflecting different aspects of the scene around me. The upper section of sherds give a good idea of the scene behind me, that is, the top part of the street. The beige sherd on the lower left portion of the frame, leaning forward, reflects the road surface where I am standing. The section of glass with the sky reflecting, was leaning away from me into the room. The right corner gives away the location of a scene long gone, that I spotted from a stop at the nearby intersection. Thanks for looking. G

Boards With Shadows

Boards with shadows abstract, sans explanation, save to say the smoke from a fire west of Taos, diluting any opportunity for a gorgeous sunset this evening, found me going through the archive again. When I threw the virtual dart at the kb’s on the 2004 hard drive this image popped up! Thanks for looking. G

A Simple Piece Of Abstraction

Abstraction in steel and glass, Alamosa, Colorado. Sometimes I point my camera at a scene I think I want … and as I look deeper in to the composition I develop a roving eye and ultimately delve deeper and deeper. What started out as an image of a broken piece of glass in a window became this scene. G
