Song Sparrow along Comanche Creek (yesterday’s photo) in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico. Singing it loud and clear. He certainly got my attention, his song echoing off the canyon walls and hills, accompanied by the babbling brook. Thanks for looking. G
Chevy Truck, Las Vegas, New Mexico. Perfect pastel colors just across the street from the restored Castaneda Hotel a former Fred Harvey House. This was about the only action to be seen yesterday, the unloading a period refrigerator, in Las Vegas, New Mexico. The Bar Castaneda, at the hotel, serves a nice pint and good food. Guadalupe window, shadows at the Santa Cruz Chapel in Ojo Caliente, NM. On a hot day like this one it’s very pleasant to stand in the shadows and cool down, watching the light work on the scene. Thanks for looking. G
Saint Francis Church, Ranchos De Taos. Georgia O’Keeffe’s painting of this church and Ansel Adams photograph, along with many other pieces of art created, depicting this building, have made it one of the most famous adobe mission churches in New Mexico. I made this particular shot with three images stitched together. It came out rather interesting and somewhat distorted, accentuating the building’s organic material and shapes. I can’t recall how many images I’ve made of this building over the years. Here’s one of my favorites from the late 1980s. If you click on one of the tags below you will get to see many more. Blue Grosbeak, San Cristobal, NM. Two years ago a young Blue Grosbeak visited the garden, I haven’t spotted one since, until today. I have no proof it’s the same bird but I like to think it might be. He seems to know his way around the place. Thanks for looking. G

Spring blossoms, downtown Taos, NM. Spring is in full bloom and these trees in blossom are lining the streets, filling the gardens and orchards with color. We made a quick drive out today. I have to say it was a pristine spring day, one of the most glorious we’ve seen in a while. I hope your day was wonderful. Thanks for looking. G
