Taos Mountain, sunset clouds, on our daily commute in northern New Mexico. We live in a most beautiful place. I know there are many beautiful places on the planet. This is our beauty spot. There’s a twelve thousand foot mountain in those clouds. It will likely be covered in more snow tomorrow. Thanks for looking. G
Taos Pueblo, Taos Mountain, Snow. A beautiful day at the Taos Pueblo today. The light was pristine, illuminating the adobe, multi story, buildings of the North House. The ever present Taos Mountain emerges from the clouds. I hope your day was a good one. Standing in the plaza at Taos Pueblo made mine quite awesome and peaceful. Thanks for looking. G
Taos Mountain, meadow, wild cloud. I can’t resist pulling over at this location and I feel sure you recognize the view. In this instance the cloud formed very quickly and blew away on the breeze in but a moment. I had just time enough to pull over and take two photos to stitch into this panorama. Thanks for looking. G
White Christmas Elk, Taos Mountain. I know it’s halloween, but… christmas decorations already? Tomorrow I anticipate christmas music in the stores and restaurants. Spending time in solitude and inward reflection sits right with my Celtic nature. I have some plans for numerous days in the field with bright mornings and early sunsets. Nights out under the stars with the camera, then back to the hearth to nurse a nice glass single malt. Thanks for looking. G
Taos Mountain, early evening light in the meadow. The cattle grazing in the long grass (wishing they were bison). The light and clouds ever changing on the unchanging presence of the mountain, made me pull over this evening on the drive home. In a brief moment later the clouds thinned, the cattle raised their heads and the light drew me on home. Thanks for looking. G
Moonrise, over Taos Mountain from San Cristobal, NM yesterday evening. The moon is 99.9% full tonight but rose well after the clouds dispersed from the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, so no photo tonight. I hope you will enjoy this image. It will be a full moon at 6:29am on the morning of Thursday August, 15. Thanks for looking. G
Taos Mountain Moonrise. The moon rose well to the south this evening, so we didn’t have to go very far to watch the moon rise over Taos Mountain. A few wispy clouds and the last light on the mountain made for not only a nice photo op, but also a beautiful evening. Thanks for looking. G
Mist rising on Taos Mountain. I called this one “The Reveal” as we sat and watched the mist dissolve and later turn to snow. It was a fantastic day of interactions between the weather, the land and sky, me and the camera. Thanks for looking. G
Roadside Reflections, Taos Mountain Clouds. On the road home a few nights ago, I found it hard to resist a reflection in this particular puddle. We’ve had some fabulous skies recently, and the puddle doubles their beauty. Thanks for looking. G
