Hoarfrost, Glowing Crystal Tree

Hoarfrost, makes for a glowing crystal tree in the meadows Taos, New Mexico. The hoarfrost coated trees lined the highway into town yesterday morning, an avenue of crystal trees leading to an imaginary crystal palace. Thanks for looking. G

New Years Eve, San Cristobal, NM

New Years Eve, San Cristobal, NM. The waning light of a waning year on my neighbor Dennis’s tree with the Columbine Hondo Wilderness disappearing in the clouds. Happy New Year and thank you for spending some of it with me. I appreciate all the comments and enthusiasm for my work. My very best wishes to you and your families for a wonderful 2019. Geraint

Winter Tree Light

Winter tree light. Those trees in (El Prado) the meadows just north of Taos, NM. Worthy of a drive almost any day of the week when the sun spot lights the valley like this. It adds a lot of warmth at this cold time of year. Warm is warm even if in the eye of the beholder. Thanks for looking. G

Elm Tree Moon

Elm Tree Moon. That’s the sight I see when I go to the gate. I just love the contrast. My enthusiasm for winter cold is sadly lacking, countered by pristine skies, meditative landscapes and solitude. Thanks for looking. G

Golden Sunlight, El Prado Trees

Golden sunlight, El Prado trees. Through the trees in El Prado (the meadows), we caught a glimpse of Taos Mountain, back there, emerging from the clouds. As we pulled out of the gas station, just across the street, we had enough time to grab a few shots of this scene before it was gone. I hope it was a good day in your world today. It was brilliant right here in the golden sunlight. Thanks for looking. G

Last Aspen Leaf Left On The Tree

Last aspen leaf… the very last aspen leaf a few days ago on the young aspen tree in the garden. Over the next few days we’ll been on the down slope to winter, with predicted  temperature drops, wind and snow. Time to go out shooting. The more weather the merrier. Thanks for looking. G

Valley Cottonwoods This Evening

Valley cottonwoods this evening in San Cristobal. What a difference a week makes. It’s the light that really makes it special, so I turned around about a mile down the road and went back to this favorite spot. It’s not always perfect but being present can make it so. Thanks for looking. G

Snow, Snow, Let It Snow

Snow, Snow, Let It Snow. This was a good day for snow in the Carson National Forest. I liked the graphic nature of this image and would like more snow on a regular basis this winter. It’s a favorite time of year to get out making images. The solitude and lack of crowds in the woods and out in the landscape is most appealing. If you’re so inclined, and would enjoy a photo tour this winter into the northern New Mexico or southern Colorado landscape, give me a call or send me an email. As always thank you for looking. G

San Cristobal Valley Fall Highlight

San Cristobal Valley fall. The fall colors peaked in the valley about a week ago. Now the cottonwoods and aspen trees are stark white, ghosts of their former selves. Another kind of beauty in the coming season. Here’s another image of this location. Thanks for looking. G

Last Leaves On The Aspen Tree

Last leaves to fall on the aspen tree. This was a couple of days ago here in the garden.  The snow took them shortly after I made this image. The last seven leaves on a young aspen in what turned out to be one of the most beautiful autumns I’ve ever seen in the thirty five years I’ve traveled and lived here. I hope yours was as gorgeous where you live. Thanks for looking. G
