Sangre De Cristo Mountians, Clouds

Sangre De Cristo Mountian clouds, San Cristobal. This is the view from our field where these strange, but not unfamiliar clouds, formed and congregated over our valley yesterday evening. I hope everyone is enjoying the beauty out there where you are. Thanks for looking in. G

Be Here Later, Taos, New Mexico

“Be Here Later.” Taos, New Mexico. A play on Ram Das’s “Be Here Now.”  I put this together and posted it on Facebook. It was appreciated for sure but not as much as some other posts. I like it in particular though and will continue to encourage a slower recovery. I mean… not a lot has changed in our way of life in the country where space is abundant and social distancing has been going on for centuries. Our state is still in lock down until May 15, and two weeks of quarantine is encouraged for travelers visiting or returning from elsewhere. So please do, be here later! Thanks for looking. G

Lobatos Bridge, Rio Grande Crossing

Lobatos Bridge, spans the Rio Grande in southern Colorado. This was on my last photo tour, March 11, 2020. It was a beautiful day and a fitting end, for the time being, of what was ramping up to be a busy year for photo tour/workshops. I have wonderful clients and I’ve rescheduled a number of trips with other trips on hold. Pending the outcome of our current situation, I’ll be signing up trips again soon. If you’re considering a tour/workshop for 2021 please get in touch. In the meantime, I have books available, with many of the locations we visit included. Thanks, as always, for looking. G

Doorways, Las Vegas, New Mexico

Doorways, in the old town of Las Vegas, New Mexico. There’s not much use for a level, square or plumb-bob in New Mexico. If there were, then the whole state just wouldn’t look right. Charm, it is what it is. Thanks for looking. G

Tucumcari, Church Window

Tucumcari NM, Church Window, the center window in a photograph I posted a couple of years ago. It struck me that a closer crop had more detail of the varied glass panels, with the broken pane revealing the window in the opposite wall. Thanks for looking. G

Ute Mountain, Cattle Hay Trough

Ute Mountain and a hay trough, with no cattle. I can’t say that I’ve ever seen cattle at this dispenser. It’s been here for a long time and I pass it often. It sits here somewhat lonely, forlorn looking. I’ve never stopped to photograph it, but on this day, what with the clouds, sky and all, I pulled over. I watched the shadows pass across the fields and over Ute Mountain, highlighting the feeder, dwarfed by the big sky. Black and white seemed like a good idea. Thanks for looking. G

Spring Blossoms, Downtown Taos, NM

Spring blossoms, downtown Taos, NM. Spring is in full bloom and these trees in blossom are lining the streets, filling the gardens and orchards with color. We made a quick drive out today. I have to say it was a pristine spring day, one of the most glorious we’ve seen in a while. I hope your day was wonderful. Thanks for looking. G

Sunset Light Rays, Arroyo Hondo

Sunset light rays, Arroyo Hondo, across the plateau to the source. I don’t remember what happened next on this particular evening in 2012, but it looks better in this photo than the clear blue skies out there this evening. There’s no drama out there now, drama is good when it comes to weather in landscape photography. Thanks for looking. G

Venus, Crescent Moon, San Cristobal, NM

Venus, Crescent Moon, over San Cristobal, NM. I was out on the deck three nights this week enjoying the Venus, Moon conjunction. Did you see it? The planet and moon were hidden, here in San Cristobal, earlier in the evening. When they ultimately emerged from the clouds I was suspended in time, until that is, a plane passed between the moon and my camera. You can make out the plane in the second image. Thanks for looking. Wall Paint, Patina, Holman, NM

Wall paint, patina on a building in Holman, NM looks like a painting. When I first spotted this, out of the corner of my eye, I thought the little blue and rust colored spots were actual flowers. By the time the lichen and mold creep is finished with it’s work, this wall will be a masterpiece. Thanks for looking. G
