Waning Crescent Moon, Sangre De Cristos, New Mexico. The silence awash across the valley when La Luna rose over the mountains was palpable. No dogs, roosters, coyotes, or birds, and the camera on silent mode perpetuated the peace in this moment. Thanks for looking. G
Harvest Moon rising over the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, New Mexico, October 2020. The orange color is another fire smoke filter, so to speak. The actual full Harvest moon was today around 3 pm. In this image, the moon was 99.1% of full. Well, we won’t quibble. Thanks for looking and keep looking up. G
Jupiter, Jupiter’s Moons, our Moon. Last night, looking up from the deck revealed this beautiful alignment of Saturn, Jupiter and four moons with our moon waxing. Saturn was too small and farther away to include in this photo. This photo comprises one exposure for our moon and another for Jupiter and it’s moons. Thanks for looking. Keep looking up. G
Big Dipper with Ute Mountain in the Wild Rivers Recreation Area in the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. The scene is lit by the moon that rose earlier tethered to Mars in the eastern sky. I’ve added a photo below. It was very peaceful after all the people looking for campsites left the area as the campgrounds are shut due to the Covid-19 health order. Thanks for looking. G
Corn Moon Rising, Sangre De Cristos, New Mexico. This month the full moon rose in and out of clouds. I liked this one depicting the Corn moon weaving it’s way through layers of clouds over the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains where we live. The view from the deck, never disappoints, despite the cloud cover. Thanks for looking. G
Full Moon, San Cristobal Valley, NM last night, waiting for the exact moment the moon is full and the subsequent eclipse. This image was at 10:44pm when the moon was precisely full. I didn’t see any difference at all that indicated an eclipse, but tonight I’m going to watch for the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn around 10:30pm. If you have binoculars you should be able to spot Jupiter’s moons, though Saturn’s rings maybe a little more elusive to see. Thanks for looking. G
Crescent moon and cloud in a mauve sky. Hanging over the plateau yesterday evening. I look in the direction where I know the moon should be, but it is lost in a bright sky. I strain my eyes, I know it is there, then… without further ado, there it is! Thanks for looking too. G

Full Blossom, Flower, Planting Moon setting, morning in San Cristobal, NM I thought flower or planting moon was good enough until I saw the blossoms on the flowering crab apple. The moon was setting through the blossoms. Works for me. Blossom Moon! Thanks for looking. G
Arroyo Hondo, and horses with this morning’s moon set reflecting in the pond. A beautiful dawn to behold in northern New Mexico. The moon doesn’t know what day, month, year, decades or millennium it is. It surely doesn’t know that this is the last full moon of the decade reflecting in the pond in Arroyo Hondo. I feel sure it’s as impervious to this fact as the horses in the pasture. I’ll say “good night… good morning moon” for a long time to come. Life goes on. Thanks for looking. G
