Boards With Shadows

Boards with shadows abstract, sans explanation, save to say the smoke from a fire west of Taos, diluting any opportunity for a gorgeous sunset this evening, found me going through the archive again. When I threw the virtual dart at the kb’s on the 2004 hard drive this image popped up! Thanks for looking. G

Indian Paintbrush In The High Country

Indian paintbrush on the slopes in the high country of the Valle Vidal unit of the Carson National Forest, New Mexico. What a gem of a place is this! For most of the day today we had it all to ourselves. The “paintbrush” are popping up all over the hillsides, attended by a multitude of daisies. The meadows are filled with wild irises and fields of grass, in the high winds, became instant cousins to ocean waves. A horseman riding bye held on firmly to his cowboy hat … and his horses reins. Church Of San Juan De Los Lagos Talpa

The church of San Juan De Los Lagos Talpa, New Mexico. After numerous days on the road in southern Colorado photographing birds of prey and abandoned homesteads we travel close to home and find some simple lines in the afternoon light on a “Sites of Taos” photo tour. Thanks for looking. G

A Field Of Green In Northern New Mexico

A field of green and a stand of trees in northern New Mexico. It was so lush and green on this road trip I thought I’d crossed the mill pond and arrived in “jolly old” … (England). G

White House Ruin

White house ruin in the San Luis Valley, Colorado. Please indulge me with another posting from southern Colorado. This area intrigues me and draws me back often. This is one in a series of abandoned homesteads in Colorado and northern New Mexico. Thanks for looking. Gwhite_house_san_luis_2974-1671489

Strawberry Moon Rising

Full “Strawberry Moon” rising over El Salto Peak in the Sangre de Cristos, Taos New Mexico. It got very quiet this evening, a kind of eerie silence as the moon peaked over the ridge. No dog, bird, or coyote sounds, as if the whole neighborhood stood still and paid attention. G

Swainson’s Hawk Colorado

Swainson’s Hawk Colorado, giving me the business. About 50 feet up, I got this picture of it looking straight down the barrel of a 300mm lens, the only kind of shooting I like. Thanks for looking. G
