Hillside Aspens, Cumbres Pass, Colorado. It was great to see this grove of aspens at it’s peak a week ago, splendid against our stunning southwest sky. We went back a couple of days later when the leaves were more sparse. Conditions in the mountains change rapidly from day to day. Graffiti art in Chamisal on the High Road to Taos. Well, someone’s idea of art. I must admit, the lighting made the colorful graffiti ‘pop’ against the dramatic sky. Thanks for looking. G

Santo Tomas Church in the Ojo Sarco Valley, northern New Mexico. Making images of the dilapidated building across the dirt road from this church. We got some welcome relief from the midday sun, under the portal roof, though open to the elements. We enjoyed the weathered, decrepit boards and the spaces between them created by time. Including them in a composition with the church of Santo Tomas seemed logical and adequately portrayed our experience. Thanks for looking. G
Blumenschein Home ladder, Ledoux Street, Taos, New Mexico. The wall is adobe, made from local mud and straw. This ladder, at the east studio wall of the Blumenschein Home, ascending to the roof and beyond, is an iconic symbol of southwest architecture. Thanks for looking. G
Tall Aspens, Italianos Trail, Columbine Hondo Wilderness. It’s looking quite gorgeous in the mountains of northern New Mexico. I made a short hike up here yesterday with my son. It was a beautiful morning hike in cool temperatures, under crystal clear blue skies. The tall aspens we are standing under has it’s own very unique quality of light. I never knew this phenomenon until I moved to New Mexico and stood in a grove like this one. Thanks for looking. G

Bailing wire door latch, a simple “security” system just off the High Road to Taos. It speaks so much to the wishes of the owner as a warning to keep out. Works for me, I wouldn’t untwist it. Thanks for looking. G
Los Ojos Village, and the Brazos Cliffs, New Mexico. We sit here waiting and watching as the clouds drift across the landscape, with the Brazos Cliffs forming a steadfast back drop to the Village of Los Ojos. Thanks for looking. G
