Big cloud over Ute Mountain, New Mexico. Ute Mountain, like its companion, San Antonio Mountain create their own weather systems. Ute Mountain and San Antonio are both free-standing, that rise to over 10,000 feet above sea level. On the plateau, they are unmistakable. Thanks for looking. G
American Robin, a portrait, and not Mary Poppin’s Robin. I’ve always remembered the fact that a robin in Great Britain is much smaller, (everything’s bigger in the States), and Disney had an artistic license. But let’s not quibble. This sweetheart was enjoying the water in the birdbath. Thanks for looking. G
Saturn, Jupiter, with three of its moons, and our Moon. The first photo is a wider view of the arrangement and the second photo is a glimpse of Jupiter and three moons. I hope you can get a look at Jupiter the, brightest light in a generally southwest direction. The moons are visible with a pair of binoculars and good eyesight. Not with my eyes, I need the help of a digital camera. Thanks for looking. G
Bosque Del Apache, National Wildlife Refuge, New Mexico. I waited at this road for some activity, perhaps a crane, a deer, or bobcat maybe even a mountain lion to saunter along. It wasn’t to be. Further down the irrigation channel, two wild turkeys wandered through the old sunflowers. Thanks for looking. G

La Luna with earthshine, framed by our old cottonwood tree in the field. This tree, half alive and half dead is a hang out for many species of birds who frequent the valley. They have an excellent view of the deck and hence the bird feeders. Last night when the moon came out they’d already left their perches or they would have seen this beautiful sight. Three Peaks, the Jemez Mountains, a Crescent Moon, in a Sunset. I stepped outside for an hour to watch the moon set across the plateau over Three Peaks (Tres Orejas), and the Jemez Mountains a supervolcano. The moon and sky were bathed in the golden afterglow from the sunset. Thanks for looking. G
High Road to Taos, Las Trampas Church, and sky. I spent some time yesterday processing a few more images from that day on the High Road last week. The fast-moving clouds were cooperating to the degree that, during a long exposure, they caused this zoom effect of the movement of the clouds over the front and rear of the church. I could have created the same effect in Photoshop® but as I said the clouds were cooperating so two minutes of exposure on each of the images gave me a nice in-camera image. Less time spent on the computer is a good thing. Thanks for looking. G
Sunset viewing sofa, West Rim Road, Taos. Yeah… really, it was deposited and abandoned, probably recycled in some other happy family’s home by now. The things one sees in the most unexpected places, I just had to stop and make an image. Thanks for looking. G
Venus, Spica, Crescent Moon, Mercury, Taos Valley lights spread along the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, capped off with a slightly dense sunrise. This morning was a little colder than yesterday but I was prepared. Tea and a sandwich, thick gloves with figure tip access, and hand warmers. Yes! Then this view. I’m enjoying being the one on the road not in a hurry to get to work. New Mexico is in a two-week strict lockdown again. Not a problem. I’m ready to hibernate anyway. Thanks for looking. G
