River, clouds, blue, sky, Colorado. Another bridge crossing the Rio Grande about sixty miles north of where yesterday’s image was taken. Right now the river is looking full and wide as we pass on Highway 142. The spring snow melt should be good this year. One of my favorite places out here. Thanks for looking. G
Rio Grande Gorge, northern New Mexico, a view from the high bridge crossing the river looking north towards Colorado. It was twilight and not the best light, but I like to document the area depicting it’s very many moods. It was the last stop on a photo tour returning from Abiquiu a couple of years ago. March along the Rio Chama in Abiquiu, New Mexico. During this self imposed quarantine I’m touring the archives. I’m going slow, pedaling my virtual bicycle, savoring moments in images made over the last few years. Roads, southwest style, traffic jam. This area was predominantly sheep ranching years ago. Shepherds would take their flocks from New Mexico, north to the rail heads in southern Colorado. This was a small group of about five hundred head of sheep. The truck had to wait about twenty minutes until they were past. Thanks for looking. G
Sangre de Cristo Mountain snows. Still a lot of snow up there a few days ago in the mountains at the New Mexico, Colorado State Line. And on a stunningly, crystal clear day for a drive during our self imposed quarantine. Home to car, to mountains and back home again. Didn’t see a soul out there, but what’s new? Thanks for looking. Mars, Jupiter and Crescent Moon conjunction bright and early this morning from the deck in San Cristobal. A quick look out the bedroom window at 5am. Then out to the deck for this grouping. Mars was clearly discernible and I could just make out two of Jupiter’s moons. Saturn was out there too, way east of the group. I’ve added a shot below. Thanks for looking. G
Plastic wrapped window treatment in Raton, New Mexico. Sometimes I walk by a scene and I just have to make a picture. This is an image of the clouds reflecting in a window, that had tinting applied which, over time, had blistered, stretched and bubbled. Hey… thanks for looking too. G
Spider Rock, Canyon De Chelly, Arizona. Spider Rock, a sandstone spire that rises 750 feet (229 m) from the canyon floor at the junction of Canyon de Chelly and Monument Canyon. This picture I post in honor of F. Ted Henry of Chinle, Arizona. Rest in peace and shine on Ted. Thank you for sharing your stories. G

Ute Mountain, with the Rio Grande Gorge, northern New Mexico. A quick cell phone photo on a photo tour/workshop last week. At this point the photographer I took out was flying his drone. I enjoyed having both feet on the ground but his images had a spectacular elevated perspective. I’ll see if I can share them in due course. Now I want a drone. Thanks for looking. G
