Wind Whipping Snow, Vallecito Peak in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico. It’s a beautiful mountain in all seasons. I think winter is my favorite season. It really defines the massiveness of the mountain and “corn woman” or “the weaver” defined by the trees in the center. It also looks like Olive Oyl, Popeye’s girl! Thanks for looking. G

Commotion, taken in the snow. I think the hawk got the rabbit. Though, on second thought… it could have been an owl last night. I’m deducing that the rabbit was gleaning fallen bird seed close to this location and the owl got it. Looks like it made a couple of attempts. This latter scenario would explain why I didn’t see the actually commotion this morning. Thanks for looking. G
Wolf Moon waxing crescent, sunset, from the driveway, San Cristobal. It’s not far from the house for a great view in all directions. This view was to the southwest shortly after the sunset. I’m looking forward to the super moon eclipse on January 20-21, 2019. Stay tuned and thanks for looking. G
Coyote winter morning in the fields, Taos NM. I was rooting through the archives today for another image and found this fellow staring back at me. There’s a hint of the last kill under it’s jaw. The eyes are always what grab me. Coyotes either stand and stare or take a rapid flight in the other direction. Can’t say I blame them taking off. Maybe a camera and a gun mean the same thing to them, shooting! Thanks for taking the time to stare back. G
San Francisco De Asis sculpture at the Saint Francis Church, Ranchos de Taos, NM. I’m always on the lookout for another angle at this very familiar location. I was showing a photo tour client how to explore something more than the standard shots at this adobe building. This is what I came up with on this trip. Depending on the time of year these two features align. Invariably and because of my familiarity with the time of day and lighting, it is almost always possible to find something new, whether a new angle, or a new feeling that speaks to me in a scene. Revisiting the San Francisco de Asis Church hundreds of times over the thirty five years since I first set eyes on it, has given me a greater understanding and affinity for the place and every aspect it embodies. Hoarfrost, makes for a glowing crystal tree in the meadows Taos, New Mexico. The hoarfrost coated trees lined the highway into town yesterday morning, an avenue of crystal trees leading to an imaginary crystal palace. Thanks for looking. G
Icicles, Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Arroyo Hondo, NM. Nice drapery, apron, curtain of icicles around the whole roof line and found on a drive around the block today. Most of the roads were clear. The Hondo/Seco road down the hill in to the valley not so much. Four wheel drive and low gear. This was the payoff. Thanks for looking. G
San Cristobal Valley sunset on the community Chapel of San Cristóbal, New Mexico. Always the golden light after the storm. Always, and thanks be for, the ubiquitous single wide mobile home, with a lopsided swamp cooler, abandoned in an adjacent field. Thanks for looking. G
New Years Day blizzard in El Prado. There’s a 12,000 ft mountain back there in the clouds. New years day 2019 will live long in memory, at least where we live. There’s 20inches of snow on the roof and the driveway was fun to get out. I hope it’s warm where you are. G
