Grain elevator with hay bales, Jaroso, Colorado. We took a twilight drive on the snow melt and muddy back roads in the San Luis Valley. We traveled north to the Colorado state line with the setting sun in our rear view mirror. Shortly after crossing the state line in we came across this scene of hay bales with the grain elevator at Anderson’s farm. The blue hues of twilight and the warm tones of the hay bales made this abstract scene glow. Beyond, the snow packed peaks of the Rocky Mountains faded into the evening haze. Thanks for looking. G

Garden Buddha, warm winter blanket, San Cristobal NM. In today’s slightly higher temperatures the statue has a fully formed apron of slumped snow. Tomorrow the Buddha will have stocking feet! Thanks for looking and stay warm where you are. G
Red willow and a cottonwood on the hill in Arroyo Hondo, New Mexico. I posted a photo of this same scene on November 1st. The snow fall was a lot heavier yesterday in the image below. In this image the red willows have taken on a luminous glow. The red willows willows are abundant throughout Taos County. Taos Pueblo is the home of the Red Willow People. Come visit! Sitting on the fence, lots of snow all over Taos County. Took a walk out early this morning as the sun rose over the Sangre de Cristos. I had a thoroughly good time photographing the more abstract elements on the subject of snow. Temperature here at noon today, 18º F. Thanks for looking and stay warm. G
Columbine Hondo Wilderness in the Sangre de Cristo mountains of northern New Mexico. This is what I see on my commute, when I make a commute. This is what I see from our valley. Last aspen leaf… the very last aspen leaf a few days ago on the young aspen tree in the garden. Over the next few days we’ll been on the down slope to winter, with predicted temperature drops, wind and snow. Time to go out shooting. The more weather the merrier. Thanks for looking. G

Morphing clouds over the western volcanic plateau from Taos, NM. There were so many images posted on social media of the broader sunset. I have a number of those images too. I was more intrigued with this one little detail that represented what was happening in the overall grander view. The clouds were morphing fast as if inspired by the setting sun. They kind of reminded me of a lava lamp. Thanks for looking. G
