Monte Vista NWR, Sandhill Cranes, Geese

Monte Vista NWR, Colorado. Sandhill Cranes, and Canada Geese. There was a lot of coming and going today during an afternoon trip to Colorado across the San Luis Valley. We saw thousands of Sandhill Cranes and Canada Geese at this hub on the birds migratory flyway north. The primordial calls of the cranes and geese echoed through the trees and over the marshes, as they have done for millions of years.
