Arroyo Hondo, lightning, in the high desert and green pastures. As Monty Python would say, “and now for something completely different!” Today we had a good downpour, although I would have liked it to have continued for a couple more hours at least. Always on the look out for a rainbow, I settled for a lightning strike instead. This is one of my favorite times of year, especially when my dry sinuses along with the landscape moisten, clear up and we both begin to breathe easier. The scent of wet sage on the air is a sensation to die for. Ask any New Mexican. Thanks for looking. G

A nice image and lovely colors. Thanks, too, for the Monty Python reference to which I would add, “Mrs. Pamela Morgan Smith practicing the art of not being seen.” 🙂
Alas I was alone. “Thunder and lightning very, very frightening!” Old dogs needed Pami’s company. There was a rainbow later but I resisted. Love Monty Python. Thanks Ron. G
I’ve always enjoyed this area. Thank you. Beautiful photo.
It is a beautiful pastoral valley and not at all what people picture when they think of New Mexico. Thanks Jamie.

Just gorgeous! The lightening, the greens ~ And yes, that sent of wet sage in the air!
Thanks for sharing!
The scent of rain on sage is very special for sure. Thank you Elaine. G
