Remnants Of Authenticity #1

Remnants Of Authenticity #1. For the past 12 years I’ve been collecting images of architecture and building details, sometimes whole buildings in decay, more often than not, the tenuous details moments before it’s ultimate demise. So many of the buildings I’ve photographed have expired or are transitioning to rubble. Soon the old adobes will be interred from whence they came. A slightly raised mound, with scattered timbers will remain, as a reminder when the earth has reincarnated all the other elements. “Ashes to ashes dust to dust” … there’s a lot of coming and going in New Mexico! Stay tuned for more images. Thanks for looking. G

Looking Down Town Taos

Looking Down Town. I often find myself continually looking up or out at a landscape, or I remember things like “keep your chin up” or “things are looking up”, or thinking, how my heart feels like it is soaring with the eagle I’m photographing. A few weeks ago during the last rain I wandered around down town Taos, around the plaza and Bent Street, and made a whole series of pictures looking down. I’ll add a few more images over the next few days unless, that is, something spectacular calls my attention upward again. Thanks for looking. G

Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuge

Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuge, Colorado. It’s morning in the wildlife refuge as the fog lifts over the cat-tails on the banks of the marshes, slowly dissipating, to reveal the sanctuary islands beyond. The waterfowl are going through their morning ablutions, primping and preening as the sun warms up the air and the day begins. Thanks for looking. G

Muted And Subtle Colors Of Fall

garden_leaves_8278-8365756

Muted and subtle colors of fall and moisture on the deck in San Cristobal, NM. The leaves… ash, aspen, locust, cottonwoods and apple are piling up and as the temperatures drop the vibrant colors turn cooler. Each morning is an affirmation of winter’s approach and a promise of springs rejuvenation. Yes I love the cool down and slow down at this time of year. Thanks for looking. G
