Fine Art Images from the American Southwest

Chimayo Holy Chile, near the Santuario de Chimayo, affectionately known as the “Lourdes of America.” I document New Mexicana wherever I go. No reason for further comment on this scene. Thanks for looking. G

    • I agree, Ron! That statue of liberty really cracked me up!

Personally, I had a little problem with the title as the artist wrote it. Have I been pronouncing the name of those fiery red and green peppers wrong all this time? Is it actually “chee-LAY,” as the accent on the final vowel E would indicate?

      • Apparently in New Mexico it’s “chile” and where I grew up in the UK it is “chili”. I ate plenty of it growing up in curry! Thanks CC. G
