Las Trampas Church, the view through the big doors. I’m on the High Road to Taos often on photo tours, that it is hard to pass up another picture opportunity of this beautiful mission church of San Jose de Gracia de Las Trampas. Thanks for looking and all the wonderful comments and support over the years. I’m very grateful. Thank you. Geraint.

Amazing entrance. Entrancing. Do I take it that the building is made up of handmade clay bricks and finished with clay. Good to see this place again in another mood.
Hi Alison, thanks for the question. I’ll say that it is more akin to wattle and daub, used in Britain. Here, the bricks are made with adobe mud and straw. the plastering is generally made with a finer mud and straw mix. Here’s a link to Adobe buildings. Thanks for asking. G
Thankyou Avery complete answer I suppose it helps to have things baked in the sun. Lots made from necessity but many with loving care.
Remudding is a process the parishioners get involved in every year in June/July. Thanks, Alison. G
I remember this place well from our first trip. Love the shadow on the sidewalk.
Many trips later… it’s fun to look back in this online photo journal. Thank you, Ron. I remember and have enjoyed all our trips. G
