Comanche Point, in the Valle Vidal Unit of the Carson National Forest, New Mexico. We went to the mountains yesterday, to the Shuree Ponds in the Valle Vidal. Spent a couple of hours at the ponds with all kinds of birds, Brewers and Red-winged Blackbirds, Mountain Bluebirds, Robins, Pine Siskins, and a couple of Mallards. Fish were jumping, both birds and fish feasting on an abundance of lace winged bugs. There were electric blue, gossamer winged dragonflies flitting around and two muskrats were chomping on pond salad. Temps dropped to 54° F and the fire smoke blowing in from Arizona was mostly nonexistent. Thanks for looking. G

Wow! Gorgeous shot and sound like a wonderful time ~
I would say I’ve always had a wonderful time up there. Never a bad time that’s for sure. Thank you Elaine. G
Oh my. I stood in this exact spot on a sweet spring day many years ago. I took no photo, save the one in my head. Thank you for awakening me back there again.
I’m happy to oblige and help trigger your memory. I never tire of this area. Thanks as always Judy.
Thank you, Geraint. It seems your travels, photos and descriptions are the only vacation many of us will be able to take this year. Keep ‘me coming and be safe.
I think I could actually count the trips I’ve made over the last three months on one hand. Happy to take you along on a virtual trip each time. Making trips here, and not seeing a soul out there isn’t difficult, social distancing made easy. Thank you Lora. G
Summertime when the living is easy…….fish are jumping …….
Lots of fish jumping and big fish at that. Thanks Fran. G
