High Road Shadows, Truchas, NM. On the High Road to Taos is the mountain town of Truchas, New Mexico where Robert Redford made the movie “Milagro Beanfield War” from the book of the same name by Taos author, John Nichols. When I’m on the high road I’m transported back to my first trip to New Mexico in 1984. The sights have changed somewhat but the scents of cedar and pinon smoke on the air remain. Thank you Elaine.
