Milkweed Pod, Seeds And Floss

Milkweed Pod, Seeds and Floss. This particular pod birthed the whole seed group at once. I picked up the pod and it rolled out into my hand. Thanks for looking. G

  1. Wonderful image. We are moving to La Isla community in Taos where there is a wetland area. We are hoping to bring in many plants such as milkweed into that region, I am interested in documenting the change in this newly developed region over the years. Might be an interesting photojournal project…

    • I spent a season photographing the milkweed, this was one of those images. I was part of a show called “Seed” which happened at the Stables Gallery in October for about six years overall. Thanks for checking in and I hope you enjoy being here. Milkweed is hard to cultivate. Standard Oil tried and failed. Scatter the seeds in wild areas and see what happens. The Monarch Butterflies will thank you. G

  2. This is lovely. I find nature’s construction to be wondrous and purposeful in its design. Here, everything is so tightly packed and ready for launch at the right time. It’s really nice to see it isolated in order to appreciate its complexity.
