Western Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly. Here in the garden this butterfly, with a five inch wingspan, visits each day, frequenting the same plants in the same order. Nature’s fascinating, endless beauty, three yards from my front door. I hope you find some beauty around you. Thanks for looking. G

Beautiful but must come from a large caterpillar
Quite large about an inch and a half and fat caterpillar. Somewhere I have photos. Thanks Alison. G
Stunning and beautiful photograph.
Thank you Elizabeth. Are the large butterlies in Wales. It’s been so long, I’ve forgotten. G
Really pretty. Glad you have first class entertainment so close to the house. 🙂
Big screen size entertainment. Thanks Ron. G
Great shot! I live in a forest way north of you and luckily the Western Tiger Swallowtail are here too! This time of year, don’t ya love it ~
Tanagers visit the garden here also. Them, bluebirds, swallowtails and a wide range of species in northern NM. Thanks Elaine. G
Eyes: check. Proboscis: check. Antennae: check. At least three legs in focus: check. Those are the things that are usually left out of my images of butterflies. Beautiful.
I think you are doing marvelously well and inspiring me with your images tenacity for capturing them. Thank you Larry, keep on shooting. G
